Ingredients

Main Components
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 small onion diced (optional)
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional Toppings & Serving
  • Hot sauce or sliced jalapeños optional
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Guacamole

Method

Cook the Tater Tots
  1. Bake or air-fry the frozen tater tots according to package directions until golden and extra crispy. Set aside.
Prepare the Beef
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Add the diced onions (if using), garlic powder, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat.
Assemble & Toast
  1. Heat the flour tortillas briefly in a dry skillet or microwave for 10 to 15 seconds until warm and pliable.
  2. Lay each tortilla flat. Place a line of seasoned beef down the center, top with crispy tater tots, a generous sprinkle of cheddar cheese, and hot sauce or jalapeños if desired.
  3. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly from the bottom up to enclose the filling.
  4. (Optional for extra crunch) Place the burritos seam-side down in a hot skillet for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden brown and toasted. Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole.
